Quick answer

Inspect before you sign. Take photos of clear freight damage and contact us immediately with your order number. Do not refuse delivery only because a used part looks dirty or exterior packaging (including a reman POD) is scuffed if the unit appears intact.

Before you sign the delivery receipt

  • Walk around the shipment — crate, pallet, straps, POD container
  • Look for impact damage: cracked block or case, crushed housing, fluid leaking from impact, severe crate/pallet breakage
  • Used units may show normal cosmetic wear — that alone is not transit damage
  • POD containers protect reman transmissions; exterior scuffs with an intact unit inside are common

What to do if you see clear damage

1. **Photograph** the damage (wide shots + close-ups, labels visible) 2. Note any damage on the delivery receipt when possible 3. Contact us immediately: [1-844-XPARTS-1](tel:+18445397278) or support@expediaparts.com 4. Include order number, photos, and what you observed

We will start a freight damage review. This is separate from a standard return with a 25% restocking fee.

When not to refuse delivery

Refusing freight because the unit looks dirty, used, or packaging is cosmetic-only — especially on used inventory — can make you responsible for redelivery and extra freight. Accept the shipment, document with photos, and call us.

Refusing may be appropriate only in rare cases of obvious, total loss in transit — call us before refusing so we can guide you.

Report freight damage

Use our [freight damage report form](/report-freight-damage) — it includes photo examples of clear transit damage vs cosmetic wear or POD scuffs. You can also call or email support with your order number and photos.

Wrong part or our packing error

If we shipped the wrong part or made a fulfillment error, see [return policy](/help-center/sr-03478-what-is-your-return-policy) — different process than carrier damage.

The POD was torn but the transmission looks OK — what now?

Photograph it, note it on the receipt if you can, accept delivery, and contact us. POD shells are replaceable shipping containers; we review whether the unit itself was damaged in transit.

Is freight damage the same as a return?

No. Clear transit damage goes through a freight damage review. Standard returns with restocking fees apply to different situations.
