WHY WARRANTY TERMS DIFFER
Two listings can both say “covered” and mean different things. The differences aren't arbitrary — coverage follows what the part is, how the vehicle is used, and whether labor is reimbursed. Here is exactly how to read the term on any product page.

What the part is
A remanufactured gas engine, a diesel engine, and an automatic transmission are rebuilt to different standards and carry different failure profiles — so their included coverage differs. Diesel terms are typically shorter and mileage-capped; gas engine terms run up to 4 years with unlimited miles.

How the vehicle is used
Personal light-duty use gets the longest terms. Commercial, fleet, heavy-duty (over 11,000 lb GVWR), and marine applications carry shorter, mileage-capped coverage — the duty cycle is simply harder on the part. Your product page states which application class your term assumes.

Parts-only vs parts + labor
Remanufactured units include labor reimbursement on approved claims when professionally installed. Used parts are parts-only: the replacement part is covered, the shop time is not. This is the single biggest practical difference between two listings that both say "covered."

What keeps coverage valid
Installation by a Licensed Automotive Repair Facility, activation within 14 days of purchase (odometer photo + VIN), intact heat tabs, required reprogramming, and calling warranty before a failed unit is removed. Miss these and the term on the page no longer protects you — they matter more than the year count.
